Introspection

I've been thinking a lot about what I want this blog to be about. Right now, it's more like a personal journal where I complain about my life. I'm still surprised that I have people who actually read what I type, although they are few in number.

I'm not creative enough for a diy or craft blog. I'm not witty enough to be funny, I have no real direction in my life. I don't know what I want to do with my life, or what I even like to do. I thought about writing about my mental health struggles, but then I realized I'm not really ready to share that with the world.

I thought maybe a music blog, but I get lazy and listen to the same things over and over again.

I guess laziness is my true problem. Maybe a blog isn't for me, I get bored easily and have trouble accomplishing goals. But what if that's exactly why I should have a blog? Because maybe it will actually encourage me to accomplish something.

I see all these people with fancy blogs and fancy graphics and awesome giveaways and I just don't see that being something I could ever do. I'd love to be able to make friends with my blogging, but I don't even know how that works.

So here I am. At a crossroads. Do I keep posting little snippets of my regular life or do I actually find a focus for this thing?

Oh, and here's a picture of Luna being adorable on her birthday last week.

In Cars

This week, I went to the Toronto International Auto Show. I don't know very much (or anything) about cars, but I had a good time checking out the cool features and paint jobs. I went with my dad and my brother, who both took their fancy cameras so I actually have pictures of all the cool cars.

It was busy, but we went during the week so it wasn't as busy as it would have been on a weekend. We got lots of free stuff (so much febreze!) and I entered a whole bunch of contests. Besides the awkward moment where a guy at a booth tried to hit on me, it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot.

Tokyo Drift is still my favourite movie, just in case you were wondering.

I am Obsessed

My reading week started this weekend, so I have a whole week off to do whatever I want. I'm going to a bunch of museums and the car show in Toronto in a few days. However, I decided that since I have some free time, I would bust out my Sims 3 games.

I don't know if anyone other than me plays the Sims (people definitely do or they wouldn't keep making expansion packs), but I've been playing since the first Sims (2000) and even though I go through cycles of playing it, here I am now with it loading on my desktop. I'll save the hassle and poorly worded explanations and just give you the wikipedia explanation:

The games in The Sims series are more of a sandbox game in that they lack any defined goals. The player creates virtual people called "Sims" and places them in houses and helps direct their moods and satisfy their desires. Players can either place their Sims in pre-constructed homes or build them themselves. Each successive expansion pack and game in the series augmented what the player could do with their Sims.

So basically, I'm their God and I control their lives and everything they do. It's very different from a lot of games in that it's open-ended and there aren't any set things you have to do. I think I'm just very bad at completing quests and things like that in other games so this works for me.

I'm currently doing a bunch of challenges, which is where I set out to get 10 generations with various points and rules. So basically if I don't update this thing, you can assume that's what I'm doing.

Oh! And happy Family Day to all the Ontarians out there!

Happy Thursday!

Only one more class until reading week. Even though I'm not going to see the love of my life (see this post) I'm still happy to have a week off. And I'm planning to go to a bunch of museums with my dad and my brother.

Oh yeah, and it's also Valentines day. It doesn't mean a whole lot to me, other than that my momma and dad got me chocolate and I got this hilarious card from the hedgehog. Although it definitely beats last year's Valentines day. At least I'm not in the hospital this time.

Anyway, this is my favourite Valentines card.... I love puns

Born This Way Ball Cancelled

Love you always, Gaga. I know I was upset yesterday, but your health is number one and you need to get better. I know you're more upset than all of us.

We'll always be here. You will always be my inspiration.

This is a post about Luna

No, not this Luna, although that is where my Luna got her name from.

This is a picture of when she was just a baby, she has grown a lot since then. She's my African Pygmy Hedgehog, and she is also the love of my life. She's getting close to one year old, she was born on February 22, 2012.

Like all hedgehogs, she has moods, and some days she is grumpy and doesn't want to uncurl out of her ball. She "huffs" when she's angry, which basically sounds like she is hyperventilating. She doesn't bite, but if you rub her quills the wrong way, you'll be in for a shock.

See how angry she looks? This was at Christmas, you can tell she is bigger than before. If you look closely, you can see her nose. It doesn't hurt or anything to hold her this way, her belly is all soft fur.

She loves her baths, and you can see her feet when she sits like this. Her feet are surprisingly long, but she can pull them up into her ball if she wants to.

This isn't a very good picture (ugh webcams), but you can see how big she is right now.

Anyway, I could post a million pictures of her. She is so cute, and she is NOT related to a porcupine! If you have any questions about hedgehogs, let me know. Other than that, be sure to marvel over how adorable she is!

Devastated Beyond Belief

If you haven't heard, Gaga released the following press release a few minutes ago:

"Live Nation Global Touring has confirmed that due to a case of synovitis, (severe inflammation of joints), Lady Gaga’s doctor has ordered her to postpone The Born This Way Ball performances in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton.

“I am completely devastated and heartsick. I've been hiding this injury and pain from my staff for a month, praying it would heal, but after last night’s performance I could not walk. To the fans in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton, I hope you can forgive me as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself right now. I would do anything for you. I will hopefully heal as soon as possible and be at 500% again, which is what you deserve.” – Lady Gaga

The postponed performances are as follows:
Feb. 13 & 14 – Chicago, IL - United Center
Feb. 16 – Detroit, MI – Palace of Auburn Hills
Feb 17 – Hamilton, ON – Copps Coliseum "

So this means that the tour date I so eagerly wrote about yesterday is cancelled. I don't think I've heard worse news in a very long time. That may sound crazy, but Lady Gaga is literally who I live for. I love her more than anything else in the world, and I was beyond excited to see her finally.

Currently, I'm sitting on the couch bawling my eyes out. I am devastated.

I have a midterm tomorrow at 7am and I can't think about anything other than my heart breaking.

Operation: Kill The Bitch

OH. MY. GOD.

Less than a week until I see Lady Gaga! 6 days, actually. I'm so pumped, I don't think anyone actually realizes how much I adore this woman. This will actually be the first time I'm seeing her in concert. I actually had a ticket to see her last Friday but it snowed and I had a midterm and needless to say it didn't happen. So I am SO excited!

I'm trying to get into the Monster Pit, which is basically a special area for the most devoted fans. To get into it, you need to be there super early, those who line up first get in first. Also, they have a wildcard for people who are the most dressed up, but I don't think they've ever used it. Anyway, I'm planning on getting there Saturday morning for the Sunday night show because luckily I'm in one of the smaller towns and it hasn't sold out yet.

Today, I started studding my denim jacket. So far, it has over 50 studs on it, but it needs a lot more. I'm also going to rip it, paint it, and stick sequins all over it. Tomorrow, I'm starting my search for a wig in a ridiculous colour (even though I have a midterm Wednesday....)

Oh, and here is a picture of me and Gaga when I met her at the MMVAs in 2011!

I Never Take Pictures

I have realized that I never take pictures. I don't have any pictures from any of the fun events, concerts, or parties I have been to in the last few years. My camera hasn't been touched in months, and my phone has pictures of my dog and my hedgehog on it.

I thought about doing a scrapbook for 2012 and I noticed that I probably have enough pictures for one page, maybe two. I don't have instagram... there still isn't a blackberry app. My blackberry camera is mediocre at best, but I can't upgrade for another 4 months unless I want to pay $200 to get out of contact.

I'm one of those people who simply enjoy the fun instead of taking pictures of it. My facebook is full of pictures other people have taken, there are basically none that I took.

My hard drive crashed about two months ago and I lost all the pictures I did take (which is only like 10, but still).

So that basically explains why there are no pictures on this blog... or anywhere for that matter. I haven't decided whether I should try to take pictures more or not. Is it worth it?

So I Went To Another Concert

On Friday I went to see another one of my favourite bands. I saw Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker (USS) at our on campus night club and I'm not even joking when I say it was one of the best concerts I've been to in a long time. I've now seen USS four times, and I swear they keep getting better and better.

I'm pretty sure they played every song in their repertoire. They literally played an hour and a half set. The energy was amazing, the crowd kept breaking out into our school cheers and you could tell the boys loved it.

Oh! And as I was in the front row, at the end they gave me a guitar pick! You honestly don't even know how happy this made me. I almost got a drum stick too, but some jerk yanked it out of my hand.

Also, the countdown to Gaga has started: 12 days!
